We received word today that "The Innocents" was accepted into the ATLANTIC CITY FILM FESTIVAL. Good news again. The ACFF runs from Oct. 15-24. Don't think we'll hire any PR people for this one though. The fest doesn't pay for any of the filmmakers to travel nor do they put anyone up. Oh well. We'll try to work something out.

Today we received word that the MARCO ISLAND FILM FESTIVAL has accepted "The Innocents" for their October festival as well. October will be a very busy month. The MIFF (Oct. 20-24) overlaps with the ACFF. But Marco will fly one of us out and put us up on the island. Hmm, dilemma has knocked on our door. One fest pays for everything and is on an island only miles from the Keys, while the other fest pays for nothing. Hmm.... Unfortunately, the management of the SSFF this year does not seem very attentive to filmmakers concerns. It's rather difficult getting any information out of them regarding screenings and locations. Not the kind of place you feel comfortable dropping off a $2,500 print. Hopefully it will all come together in the next week. More great news! RMH Media brought our story for "Sacrifice the Muse" to someone at FOX TELEVISION. Fox thought it would make a great television series. So we may be writing up a treatment for a series based on the feature film script. We'll know in a few days, after an initial pitch meeting at Fox.

We've decided to both attend the MIFF. They even offered to put us up in a two-bedroom condo overlooking the Gulf. Wow, that's a filmmaker friendly fest for you. They've also informed us that there will be substantial media coverage, many lavish parties for everyone and possibly a Gulf cruise for each of the filmmakers. Okay...where's my big suitcase? Things are still a bit shaky for the SSFF. They have given us our screening times and locations but when I called back for directions they hadn't the slightest idea of how to get there. I had advertising and marketing fliers to make and I wasn't sure of how to tell people to get there. And there still was no program to be seen. Not a good start to a festival.

Sept. 25

We've completed the pilot episode outline for "Muses". It's perfect. We're very happy with it. I faxed it off to Jeff and Rita and they passed it along to Todd Corly, an exec at Fox Television. We've confirmed our flights for Marco Island. One of us will be using the free ticket provided by the fest and we're splitting the second ticket. Also, we received a call from WEVU TV in Florida. They asked if we could send them clips of our film to show during media coverage of the festival. That's always a good sign.
