SUMMER 2006

As we reported before, we have joined forces with Like Water For Chocolate producer Emilia Arau, and we're absolutely ecstatic. We couldn't ask for a better producing partner than Emilia on this film. She is as passionate and dedicated to Butterflies & Lightning as we are.

We have been accepted in IFP's NO BORDERS INTERNATIONAL CO-PRODUCTION MARKET.An International film-financing forum that connects producers with domestic and international financing entities.
We're looking forward to making more contacts and continuing to move forward with this film.

At Cannes we met with and attracted a casting director in Europe who fell in love with the script and has agreed to work with us on approaching and securing actors for the film. So far we have attracted the interest of Alfonso Arau, Lucia Jimenez and are currently approaching several other actors for the film.
As well, it sounds like we have found our Italian co-producer and are currently trying to work out all of the details. She too will be an amazing addition to the film. We are all very excited about these great developments for Butterflies & Lightning.

ALSO, Katherine's FAMILY/ACTION/ADVENTURE spec The Jungle was a quarter-finalist in Creative Screenwriting Magazine's screenwriting competition.

Katherine's third feature film script Wild Skies Above was a finalist for the Sundance Screenwriters Lab, and a semi-finalist in the American Accolades Screenwriting Competition. We are also gearing up to begin developing Wild Skies Above to be shot digitally sometime next year. And, Katherine is wrapping up her adaptation of an award winning Ellery Queen Mystery/Thriller short story soon to be discussed here.

We'll let you know as things progress.

Also, as we mentioned before, The Innocents has been included in The Encyclopedia of Underground Movies - Films from the Fringes of Cinema, by Phil Hall. As Phil Hall states, his 'unique guide leads you into a world of true originals...where filmmakers are inspired to create something different. Unlike most independent films, undergrounds roll far from traditional filmmaking circles. With micro-budgets that couldn't cover a day's catering on typical Hollywood films, these productions challenge audiences with bold content and audacious visuals that make cineplex fare taste like stale popcorn. Today's underground cinema is the ultimate gold mine for the true cinephile.'

The Innocents is listed with forty-nine other feature films in the section on the most memorable indie/underground dramas. Considering the fact that thousands of indie feature films are produced every year it is fantastic to be included among the best of independent underground films, filmmaking and filmmakers.

Thank you
