We were accepted into the DANCES WITH FILMS FESTIVAL today. The fest runs from July 23-29. They're motto is 'No Known Actors, Directors, or Money." They created an indie fest for real indie films. What a novel idea. In an industry where the definition of "Independent" has nothing really to do with budget or cast restrictions anymore (i.e. The English Patient), where the lack or presence of a major distributor backing the production becomes the sole measure of a film's status, it is exciting to be a part of such a bold festival as this.

We've decided to hire a PR Firm to help promote our film for the next two fests. "Dances With Films" organizers recommended RMH Media, they're going to be the PR firm for the festival. This should make it easy for staying in the thick of things. We've decided to hire RMH Media to represent our film in these two fests. They're going to contact distributors and press and do all of the leg work for us. The fee is steep, $1,500, but hopefully it will be worth the price.There's lots of work to be done. We need to cut a trailer, pull scenes from the film for publicity and re-design our press kits.
