The NEW YORK INT'L INDEPENDENT FILM AND VIDEO FESTIVAL (Feb. 6-15) With a kick-off party at MADISON SQUARE GARDEN and screening venues such as Robert DeNiro's Tribecca Film Center and the Clearview Cinemas, the NY Int'l Ind. promised to be quite a large event. A big event it was indeed. Katherine arrived in New York just in time for the Madison Square Garden party where it was wall to wall filmmakers, press and schmoozing. Mostly, schmoozing.

The theater was running about half an hour late on the day of our screening. Our attempts at attracting press has paid off, we succesfully lured a few newspapers into our screening - easily identifiable as the ones holding our faxed announcements. The nearly full theater had to endure the projector breaking down twice. Apparently a fuse had blown both times, but, fuses not withstanding, the screening of our new 97min. version of "The Innocents" was a fantastic success.

Check out the PRESS ROOM for two new articles on Katherine and the film published in the THE BLACK STAR NEWS and THE PEOPLE'S WEEKLY WORLD. All of our faxing paid off, we received two new write-ups and reviews. This is what we hoped to get out of the fest, and this is what we got, more press. Mission accomplished.
